چکیده
جان کیتس (1821-1795) یکی از مشهورترین و مبتکرترین شعرای تاریخ ادبیات انگلستان است . اولین شعری که از وی ثبت شده در تاریخ 1814سروده شده است . و عنوان آن تقلید ی از اسپنسر بوده است . در سال 1817 نخستین و در سال 1818 دومین و در سال 1820 سومین و آخرین جلد مجموعه اشعار وی منتشر شده است . کیتس با داشتن قدرت عظیم تخیل و نبوغ در نوشتن ‘ می توانست دنیای زیبای طبیعت پیرامون خود را به صورت بسیار مطبوع در اشعار خویش به تصویر درآورد . او همچنین می توانست شعر را با نقاشی و مجسمه سازی ارتباط دهد . یکی از مهم ترین غزلهایش با عنوان غزل پاییزی ‘ درحالی که در سحرگاه یک روز یکشنبه در وینچستر انگلستان به گردش می پرداخت و زیباییهای آن روز پاییزی را درحومه شهر تحسین می کرد‘ به وی الهام شده است .
